fixies in museums
I went to the Body Worlds exhibit in LA this weekend and was pleased to see a total of three fixies in the museum, although only one in the Body world's show.
There are rules about cameras there so I can't show pictures of the Giant fixed gear (1.5 times normal size) the exploded corpse was riding but let's just say the "bike" which was poorly welded of aluminum tubes, featured a 72 tooth chainring with probably 350mm cranks and the seat tube was welded 4 inches behind the bb to the chain stays. I'll try and find pics on the web to point to that won't get me a cease and desist letter.
Also sighted: A bicycle tightrope ride that was fixed gear that anyone could ride (it certainly sounds dangerous but it wasn't) and a GT persuit bike that a scale claimed weighed 20 pounds. hmmm. maybe time for a recalibration.

Good to see someone else was checking out the fixies there. I went a few months ago, and noticed the same things.
And then there was the piston powered (pistons in place of muscles on mechanical legs) bicycle that had a cog that freewheeled in both directions!
